Biography

Dr. Sandip Mukherji is a Professor of Finance and Director of the Center for Financial Services in the School of Business at Howard University. He oversees the Simulation, Learning, and Research Lab, organizes annual Wall Street on Campus financial strategy education seminars and finance workshops, conducts Trading Challenges for students each semester, and chairs the Faculty Development and Teaching Committee. He has 12 years of banking experience, having worked in middle-management positions in a large commercial bank and in the central bank of India. He has been awarded a Morgan Stanley Foundation Research Fellowship and worked on three-month summer projects at Goldman Sachs (twice), Bank of New York (twice), and Cooper’s & Lybrand, besides working as a consultant for Goldman Sachs. He has also participated in a 3-day finance workshop at Wharton and Merrill Lynch, and a 4-day executive education program on valuation at Harvard University. In 26 years at Howard University, Dr. Mukherji has presented 32 research papers at national and international conferences, and published 48 research papers on investments, corporate finance, and education, in 25 refereed journals. His research papers have been cited in top journals, such as Journal of Financial Economics and Journal of Finance, as well as in popular magazines: Forbes and Smart Money. He has won a Quality Research Award from Global Finance Journal and a teaching award from graduate students for exceptional classroom instruction. He delivered the keynote speech at the 2008 International Business and Management Research conference in Hawaii.
