Maru Etta-Nkwelle is an Associate Professor of Finance, International Business and Economics at the Howard University School of Business. She holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Howard University, a Master of Arts degree in Development Banking from the American University and a BA in Finance from the University of the District of Columbia. As an International Business Professor, she wrote and was awarded a couple of multi-year grants and served as Project Manager for the U.S. Department of Educationâ€™s Business and International Education grant program. Apart from teaching, she has also served as the Chief Financial Officer for the Alliance Health Benefit Plan (2002-2004) and as a Financial Analyst for the U.S. Agency for International Developmentâ€™s Africa Venture Capital Project (1992-1995).
