Maru Etta-Nkwelle is an Associate Professor of Finance, International Business and Economics at the Howard University School of Business. She holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Howard University, a Master of Arts degree in Development Banking from the American University and a BA in Finance from the University of the District of Columbia. As an International Business Professor, she wrote and was awarded a couple of multi-year grants and served as Project Manager for the U.S. Department of Education’s Business and International Education grant program. Apart from teaching, she has also served as the Chief Financial Officer for the Alliance Health Benefit Plan (2002-2004) and as a Financial Analyst for the U.S. Agency for International Development’s Africa Venture Capital Project (1992-1995).
